So this post has a lot going on I know! It's focus is mostly on gifts from popular events, and hunt items, as well as a group gift or two!! It is totally possible to dress like a star in secondlife without having to spend -real- money. That is if you have the time and patience to look for those bargains! Now this isn't me throwing mud at designers or their prices, because we all know, or should know exactly how hard they work. Especially original mesh creators, and those tattoo artists we love so much. You're talking about hours spend in their 3d program of choice fighting with the controls to bring you an item that's high in quality that fits your 5 standard sizes, then there's all the bodies, Maitreya, Slink, Belleza and several others that are beautiful but not main stream, Uluke for one, (LOVE IT)! Each one of those bodies has it's own rigging done to work with the SL avatar, so every item of clothing or accessory that is rigged must be rigged to fit the 5 standards sizes, and then each additional body that it's fitted to. Just like skins and textures each also have to be repainted to fit the various bodies, heads, mouths, hands and feet. Talk about time consuming! They're doing these things even for the free gifts you're out hunting! Quite literally taking money out of their pocket because it can cost anywhere between 1000-8500 depending on what they're creating and weather or not they have to purchase an a dev kit from another designer. So when they give you these gifts be sure to thank them in some way! Drop them a note card and let them know how much you loved the item, how much you appropriate the time and effort that went into those kicken' new pumps you scored on a lucky machine!! That said, there are several events going on right now that has beautiful new gifts, and lucky boards, and some that are coming up! SaNaRae has a set of luck boards- You must join their update group, but it's free of charge and well worth it as people also trade/sell gacha items in it, so if you didn't get what you wanted out of the machines perhaps there is someone wanting a spar you have willing to trade or sell; There is also the Tengoku No Rakuen Hunt the items are 2L each and seriously cute!! TnR lasts until June 15th so you still have time to check it out! There is the Enchanted Hunt as well, Wear the hud find the books, it's going on until the 31st so you've got a little time left for that one! Coming June 1st is the Women's Only Hunt!
